Attendance, Shifts and Overtime Management in Kenya

Plan when people should work, compare attendance with the published roster and review exceptions before preparing overtime. Keep work-time decisions connected to the employee and payroll records.

Publish work schedules and rosters

Create work patterns and assign applicable schedules to employees. Publish shifts and rest days, including split shifts with a gap between work periods. Review the roster before using it as the basis for attendance.

Review the evidence before deciding

Compare recorded punches with published shift windows. Missing or ambiguous events need review; they are not automatically treated as misconduct or a salary deduction. Approved corrections retain a record of the reviewed evidence.

Choose how approved overtime is settled

Configure company overtime policies for payment, time off in lieu, or both. Prepare proposals from completed policy weeks and submit them through approval before settling eligible overtime.

Keep payroll review separate

Payroll settlements create earnings for review in an applicable open period. Finance checks the amount and component before payroll is finalised. Time off in lieu follows its separate approved entitlement and usage records.

Choose access for your team

Available modules and reports depend on your chosen package and additions. Each user also needs the appropriate company role permissions. Compare the current scope and employee allowance before selecting a subscription.

Common questions

Are split shifts supported?

Yes. Work patterns can include more than one work period in a day. The gap between those periods is not automatically counted as worked time.

Does clocking out late automatically increase salary?

No. Attendance evidence, the applicable overtime policy and approval are reviewed first. Payroll changes then require the appropriate payroll review.
